Designs, develops, maintains, enhances and documents software systems. Depending upon the SWE’s role, skill level and system complexity, the SWE may perform all or some subset of these functions. At the lowest levels the SWE may work under close supervision as a member of a team using well-defined specifications to develop or maintain noncomplex systems. At the highest levels the SWE may work independently or in a lead technical role, developing system 

architecture and requirements, defining processes and methodologies, resolving complex technical issues or research problems, and may have responsibility for directing the software activities of a large program. SWE 4 shall demonstrate all lower level skills plus design and develop software solutions by analyzing stakeholder requirements and conferring with users or systems engineers. Design and implement software solutions to complex problems. Develop 

software system installation or build procedures or scripts. Analyze and resolve system performance issues


Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

Capabilities
  • Ability to take requirements and develop test completion criteria
  • Ability to verify end-to-end requirements
  • Ability to perform exploratory test cases
  • Ability to design and develop test cases
  • Ability to track and manage defects
  • Ability to execute regression testing and system testing to verify overall requirements


Required Qualifications
  • TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly
  • BS + 5 years of exp; MS + 3 years of exp: PhD + 1 years of exp is required. Four years’ experience can be substituted for BS degree.


Required Technical Skills
  • Experience writing Python scripts.
  • Experience with GitLab.
  • Experience with TestLink.
  • Experience with UI Automation software (Selenium)
  • Ability to take requirements and develop test completion criteria to verify end-to-end requirements, perform exploratory test cases, design and develop test cases, track and manage defects, execute regression testing and system testing to verify overall requirements.
  • Experience working System Test, SW Development and/or Systems Engineering
  • Familiarity with CI/CD principles.
  • Experience with Windows/Linux operating systems & Virtual Machines (VMs).
  • Expert level understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile development methodology.


Desired Technical Skills
  • Experience with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Git, Confluence).
  • Experience using software test automation tools/frameworks (Selenium).
  • Experience with Java, C++, or Python.
  • Experience using UI automation software (Selenium).

Hourly pay rates listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location. *Hourly pay rates reflect the pre-benefit gross wage amounts.
