Altruix is seeking a Medherent Technician to support our Annapolis, MD pharmacy and the patients and facilities we serve. This role combines medication delivery responsibilities with hands-on support of Medherent medication management devices.


The Medherent Technician will deliver prescription medications and supplies, install Medherent devices in patient or facility settings, troubleshoot basic device issues, and accurately load medications into the devices in the correct order. This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working with basic tools and technology, and confident interacting with patients, caregivers, and facility staff.


The Medherent Technician will operate a company-provided vehicle and represent Altruix in the field.


Compensation for this role is $21.00 per hour


This is a full-time position. Workdays and hours may vary based on business needs, delivery routes, device installations, and service requests. The role may require early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekend coverage as needed.


Main Responsibilities

Medherent Device Support

  • Install and set up Medherent medication management devices in patient homes, group homes, agencies, and partner facilities.
  • Mount devices securely using basic hand tools and installation methods similar to mounting a television or other wall-mounted equipment.
  • Confirm devices are properly connected, functioning, and ready for use.
  • Troubleshoot basic device, connectivity, power, or setup issues and escalate more complex concerns when needed.
  • Perform routine device checks, maintenance, replacements, and updates as assigned.
  • Accurately fill Medherent devices with medications in the correct order and according to pharmacy instructions.
  • Verify medication placement, quantity, and labeling before completing each device fill.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to device installation, service, troubleshooting, and medication loading.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and facility staff on basic device use and who to contact for assistance.
  • Communicate device concerns, medication discrepancies, or patient issues to the appropriate pharmacy team member promptly.


Medication Delivery and Transportation

  • Safely operate company-provided vehicles in accordance with company policies and traffic laws.
  • Deliver prescription medications, Medherent supplies, and related materials in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follow assigned routes, installation schedules, and service appointments.
  • Properly handle, secure, and transport medications in compliance with HIPAA, pharmacy requirements, and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, signatures, and required documentation.
  • Confirm medications and supplies are delivered to the correct patient, caregiver, or facility representative.
  • Perform basic vehicle checks and report maintenance or safety concerns as required.


Customer and Team Support

  • Provide professional and compassionate customer service to patients, caregivers, facility staff, and internal team members.
  • Communicate clearly regarding estimated arrival times, device service needs, and delivery updates.
  • Use company-provided communication devices and systems in accordance with company policies.
  • Coordinate with pharmacy, logistics, and Medherent teams to resolve delivery or device-related concerns.
  • Represent Altruix professionally in appearance, communication, and conduct.
  • Complete all required training and follow company procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Acceptable driving record in accordance with company standards.
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools and completing wall-mounted equipment installations.
  • Comfortable learning and troubleshooting technology-based devices.
  • Ability to accurately handle, organize, and load prescription medications according to written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to handle and transport medications and other sensitive materials responsibly.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in patient homes and facility settings.
  • Ability to lift and carry devices, medications, and supplies and perform the physical requirements of installations.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous delivery, courier, field service, installation, maintenance, or logistics experience.
  • Experience installing televisions, equipment, appliances, or wall-mounted devices.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic devices, Wi-Fi connectivity, or basic technical issues.
  • Experience working in healthcare, pharmacy, behavioral health, or another regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with medication handling, medication packaging, or pharmacy operations.
  • Strong customer service background.


Schedule

  • Full-time.
  • Workdays and hours may vary based on delivery routes, installations, and service needs.
  • May include early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends.
  • Routes, installations, and service schedules will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
