RVT, ICU Technician – Surgical Patients

Experience Required: Registered Veterinary Technician, Minimum 3 years as a veterinary technician in ICU

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented  RVT to join our busy surgical specialty practice and care for our patients in the ICU. Our Annapolis location shares a 28,000 sq. ft. building with other veterinary practices: internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, ophthalmology, neurology, rehabilitation, radiation oncology, and a 24-hour emergency clinic.

This role is ideal for a highly motivated technician with strong clinical skills who thrives in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment and is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

Schedule

• Shifts are scheduled between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., Monday–Friday
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
  
  

Job Summary

The ICU Technician promotes a professional, patient-focused environment within the ICU and plays a vital role in supporting our surgeons with the care of postoperative and critical surgical patients. This position requires strong independence, excellent clinical judgment, and compassionate care.

The ICU Technician works closely with surgeons and collaborates with all CVSS team members to ensure the highest standards of patient care, communication, and teamwork.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years ICU experience as a veterinary technician
• Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of MD 
• Commitment to CVSS’s mission, vision, and values
• Demonstrated excellence in nursing care and critical thinking
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-intensity environment
• Strong time-management skills, initiative, and task prioritization
• Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful situations

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in calculating drug dosages and administering IV medications and fluids
• Skilled in venipuncture & IV catheter placement
• Strong patient monitoring and nursing care abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Primary Objective

• To deliver exceptional ICU patient care for surgical patients at CVSS
