Reporting directly to the vice provost for student affairs and dean of students, the assistant/associate director of inclusive excellence supports the development, coordination, and implementation of inclusive excellence initiatives in collaboration with the Center for Student Engagement. The position has primary responsibilities for programming, education and training, student retention, case management, and participation in on-call responsibilities. The assistant/associate director contributes to strategies and initiatives designed to strengthen students’ sense of inclusion, belonging, connection, and engagement at Lebanon Valley College. The position works collaboratively across Student Affairs and campus partners to develop and implement programs, services, and initiatives that advance the College’s commitment to inclusive excellence. Through the Office of Culture, Community, and Belonging and the Student Affairs division, the assistant/associate director helps create an environment in which all students feel welcomed, valued, supported, and empowered to fully participate in the LVC community. Qualifications include a Master’s degree in a related field, a minimum of one year of professional student affairs experience, including graduate-level experience, the ability to live in provided campus housing as a live-on staff member, experience mentoring, advising, and supporting historically underrepresented students and student organizations, understanding of the residential college environment and experience developing student programs, the demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence and knowledge of issues affecting BIPOC and LGBTQ+ students in higher education, the ability to work collaboratively and independently with initiative and sound judgment, and engagement in student affairs professional organizations (preferred).
