The Cable Returns Technician is responsible for processing cable department returns, preparing cable orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring all cabling meets Solotech quality standards to support live production operations.

Your day will look like this:

  • Examine equipment lists for tours and pull all cabling orders
  • Receive, inspect, and process returned cable using the R2 inventory system
  • Ensure cable returns are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Communicate with internal departments regarding returned equipment
  • Coordinate return priorities alongside the Warehouse Manager
  • Verify all cables are organized by the correct type and quantity before returning to inventory
  • Scan returned equipment to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Perform cycle counts to support inventory integrity
  • Assist with inventory control procedures and operational best practices
  • Prepare, fill, and receive orders in the R2 inventory system
  • Determine if cable is damaged and clearly identify items requiring repair
  • Ensure all equipment shipped to planned locations is in good condition
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the department
  • Report damaged, missing, or unsafe conditions to the Warehouse Manager
  • Track inventories, kits, cable assembly bundles, and related materials
  • Respond to questions from technicians, coordinators, and road crews
  • Clean and visually inspect returned equipment
  • Clean, label, and inventory cabling
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound equipment
  • Assist with warehouse projects, operational changes, and departmental moves
  • Follow company and industry quality standards for equipment preparation
  • Other duties as assigned

Your profile:

  • Less than one (1) year of experience in production equipment rentals/operations
  • Experience in cabling or electrics is considered an asset
  • Degree in audiovisual or electronics field is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of inventory software preferred
  • Knowledge of Office365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Basic knowledge of cable types used in the live entertainment production industry preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks within tight deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Forklift certification preferred

  • Time will be spent in a warehouse environment
