Position Overview

The Automotive Fleet Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the dealership's commercial fleet service operations. This includes managing fleet maintenance and repair schedules, coordinating technician workflow, ensuring timely vehicle turnaround, and delivering exceptional service to commercial and government fleet customers.

The ideal candidate is an experienced dealership service leader with strong organizational skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer satisfaction while maintaining an efficient, profitable operation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the commercial fleet service department
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial, municipal, and fleet customers
  • Coordinate fleet maintenance, repairs, warranty work, and preventative maintenance schedules
  • Oversee technician workflow to ensure efficient scheduling and timely vehicle completion
  • Work closely with the Parts, Service, and Warranty departments to expedite repairs
  • Monitor repair progress and communicate updates to fleet customers
  • Ensure repair orders are accurate, complete, and processed efficiently
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction while maximizing shop productivity
  • Ensure compliance with Ford warranty and manufacturer repair guidelines
  • Track fleet performance, service metrics, and department profitability
  • Recruit, coach, and develop service department personnel as needed

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of automotive dealership experience required
  • Previous Fleet Service Manager, Service Manager, or Commercial Fleet Service experience strongly preferred
  • Ford dealership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance, commercial vehicle service, and dealership fixed operations
  • Experience managing technician workflow and repair order processes
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced dealership environment
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
