We are seeking a Safety & Training Leader to ensure an efficient safe, compliant, and well-trained operation.

 

This is a people-focused role working closely with the Site Leader, Manufacturing Team Leader, Human Resources, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and other functional leaders to build a strong safety culture, maintain environmental compliance, develop effective training systems, and improve leadership and associate capability across the site.

Lead. Improve. Make an Impact.

  • Lead site safety efforts promoting a culture where safety is a visible top priority in both words and actions.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Directs Plant Safety Coordinators and Safety Steering Team to prioritize safety projects and resources appropriately.
  • Communicates successes, concerns, and action plans with urgency and professionalism. Problem solver.
  • Leads, supports, or facilitates incident investigations, near miss reviews, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and follow-up verification.
  • Develops and maintains training matrices, training plans, qualification systems, and refresher training processes.
  • Promotes standardized work, clear expectations, and consistent training methods to improve safety, quality, productivity, and associate engagement.
  • Leads the site training system for hourly and salaried associates to ensure training requirements are identified, documented, completed, and sustained.
  • Evaluates training effectiveness and recommends improvements based on performance data, observations, incidents, and business needs.
  • Be a leader and role model of company values and professional conduct.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to remove barriers and improve results

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Safety, Science or Engineering preferred)
  • Manufacturing experience with preferred 2 years of leadership experience
  • OSHA, environmental, training, lean, or continuous improvement certifications are a plus
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate others.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
