Production Assistant is responsible for assisting other departments through efficient and safe use of the plant equipment during his/her shift.

Essential Duties:

• Good hand-eye coordination for joining fine monofilament ends of forming fabrics.
• Operate a forklift to move raw materials and final products throughout the facility
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot routine problems with materials and equipment
• Practice and identify great safety habits
• Maintain 5S and good housekeeping throughout the facility
• Work quickly, efficiently, and reliably both independently and in a group environment
• Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision
• Must have good interpersonal skills.
• Support site's other departments as needed

Required Skills:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiple, divide and measure up to 1/16".
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Education/Experience/Certification:

Must have high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Ability to work in a typical plant environment involving exposure to fluorescent lighting, potential ink fumes, contact with synthetic materials and air conditioning. Ability to sit, stand, lay on stomach and move about the facility for 8 hours per day. Ability to lift 15 lbs. up frequently, and up to 75 lbs. occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
