Job Description:

**Hiring for our next SANE training 4/27/2026-5/1/2026. All candidates must be available to attend this week long local training**

Schedule Requirements:
•    36 hours of on-call time per month- 12 hours of weekend call required
•    Attend quarterly team meetings
•    Attend 1 annual education day
•    Maintain competency through 6 hours of continuing education per calendar year

Key Accountabilities

• Provide/identify need for acute medical care within scope of practice

• Perform expert forensic evidence collection from

• Maintain competency in exam components

• Collaborates with community and legal agencies such as law enforcement. Participate in the legal process, including testifying in court as needed

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin RN Licensure

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• One year of direct patient care in an acute setting required

• Two years of direct patient care in an acute setting preferred

• Forensic nurse experience preferred

• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)

Additional Skills

• Critical thinking skills working as an autonomous care provider

• Strong independent learning with dedication to maintain and advance professional knowledge

Physical Demands

• Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance

• Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments

• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. 

• Occasional high noise level in work environment.

• Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents.

• Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients.
