Private Driver

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious, and discreet Private Driver to provide reliable personal transportation for a private household in Arcadia. The ideal candidate will have an excellent driving record, strong knowledge of child-passenger safety, exceptional professionalism, and the flexibility to accommodate changing schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation and Child Safety

  • Safely transport family members to and from schools, activities, appointments, airports, events, and other approved destinations.
  • Follow all traffic laws and use defensive-driving practices at all times.
  • Ensure every passenger is appropriately secured before moving the vehicle.
  • Never leave a child unattended in the vehicle.
  • Allow only family members and other passengers specifically authorized by the employer to enter or ride in the vehicle.

Vehicle Care and Safety

  • Conduct daily checks of the brakes, tires, lights, fluids, fuel level, and the vehicle's overall condition.
  • Keep the vehicle clean, organized, fully fueled, and ready for use.
  • Maintain a completely smoke-free and vape-free environment inside and around the vehicle.
  • Report to work free from cigarette, vape, heavy perfume, or other strong odors.
  • Do not use artificial air fresheners or heavily scented cleaning products without prior approval.
  • Promptly report mechanical problems, warning lights, damage, accidents, citations, or safety concerns.
  • Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance, inspections, repairs, car washes, and professional detailing as directed.
  • Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel purchases, maintenance, and transportation expenses when required.

Professional Conduct

  • Use the family vehicle exclusively for authorized family business and scheduled assignments.
  • Do not transport a spouse, children, friends, relatives, or any other unauthorized passengers.
  • Maintain clear professional and personal boundaries with the family.
  • Protect the family’s privacy and keep all personal information, conversations, locations, routines, and schedules strictly confidential.
  • Remain calm, patient, courteous, and attentive when interacting with children.
  • Avoid personal phone use while driving. Hands-free communication may be used only when safe and necessary.
  • Arrive punctually, appropriately dressed, well-groomed, and prepared for each assignment.
  • Adapt professionally to last-minute changes in school, activity, travel, and appointment schedules.
  • Refrain from posting information, photographs, locations, or details concerning the family on social media.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and legally required automobile insurance.
  • Excellent driving record and substantial professional or family-driving experience.
  • Demonstrated experience safely transporting children.
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background checks, motor-vehicle record reviews, drug screenings, and any other legally permitted pre-employment screening.
  • Strong communication, organization, time-management, and route-planning skills.
  • Familiarity with local schools, airports, medical facilities, and activity locations preferred.
  • Ability to remain composed and exercise good judgment during emergencies.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended hours.

Conditions of Employment

Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of all required background and driving record procedures. The driver must comply with the family’s confidentiality, vehicle use, child safety, substance-free workplace, and professional conduct policies throughout employment.
