Position Overview
As a Pest Control Technician, you’ll play an essential role in protecting homes and businesses from unwanted pests. Your day will include inspecting properties, identifying pest activity, performing treatments, documenting services, and helping customers understand the best solutions for their needs.
This is a hands-on, field-based opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, solving problems, interacting with customers, and making a visible difference each day.
Essential Responsibilities
Follow all company safety policies and regulatory requirements regarding the application, mixing, storage, and handling of pest-control products.
Properly use personal protective equipment and safely operate company vehicles, tools, and treatment equipment.
Operate a company vehicle safely, responsibly, and in accordance with applicable laws.
Obtain and maintain all required industry licenses and registrations through testing and continuing education.
Maintain the assigned vehicle and equipment to ensure cleanliness, proper operation, safety, and longevity.
Coordinate with customers to schedule or confirm appointments and communicate any required service preparation.
Conduct thorough exterior inspections to identify pests, pest activity, entry points, and conditions that may contribute to infestations.
Inspect and treat interior areas as needed, including attics, basements, wall voids, and crawl spaces.
Select and apply the appropriate products, equipment, and treatment methods based on the pest, treatment area, and environmental conditions.
Explain inspection findings, treatment recommendations, additional service opportunities, and payment information to customers.
Accurately document completed services, pest activity, treatment areas, products used, and required property graphs.
Remove cobwebs and spiderwebs from the exterior of treated structures.
Identify potential customer needs and partner with the sales team to generate leads for additional services.
Attend required training sessions and company meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle record that meets company insurance and safe-driving requirements.
Ability to pass the applicable state examination for pest-control registration or certification after hire.
Ability to read and communicate in English sufficiently to understand safety instructions, product labels, service requirements, and customer needs.
Ability to pass a post-offer drug screening.
Availability to work weekends when business needs require it.
Previous pest-control or route-service experience is helpful but not required.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Daily driving between customer locations.
Regular indoor and outdoor work in heat, cold, rain, and other seasonal weather conditions.
Ability to climb stairs and access attics, crawl spaces, basements, and other confined or difficult-to-reach areas.
Frequent kneeling, bending, stooping, crawling, walking, and standing.
Ability to safely navigate uneven terrain, property perimeters, and landscaped areas.
Ability to carry product-filled containers and operate manual or motorized application equipment.
Frequent communication with customers using a company-provided or approved mobile device.
Ability to perform basic calculations involving distance, volume, measurements, and product-mixing ratios.
