Job DetailsJob Location: Liberty Educational Ministries, Incorporated - Argyle, TX 76226Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeTravel Percentage: NoneJob Category: Teacher Position Purpose  The role of the Lower School Teacher is to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program and learning environment that guides and encourages students in grades K-5 to develop and fulfill their academic and God-given potential.    Essential Functions  Uphold the mission and vision statement of Liberty Christian School (LCS).  Contribute to the spiritual growth of students by praying for, encouraging, and discipling the students while modeling what it means to be a follower of Jesus.  Love and pray daily for the children, parents, and LCS staff.  Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and submit lesson plans to administration.  Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests that are in accordance with established procedures and in alignment with standards.  Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.  Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.  Use relevant technology to support classroom instruction and student learning.  Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflects understanding of the learning styles and differentiated needs of students assigned.  Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures and aligning them with the standards established in the Warrior Way.  Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.  Provide appropriate and timely feedback to parents regarding their child’s progress and growth.  Maintain accurate records of students' progress and development.  Prepare required reports on students and activities.  Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.  Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.  Grade all class work and assessments in a timely manner to guide and inform instruction.  Encourage parent communication, obtain information for parents when requested, and promptly respond to phone calls and emails.  Participate in appropriate professional development activities.  Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.  Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees, as required.  Adhere to the Student Protection Policy (SPP) procedures and trainings.   Responsibilities and tasks outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the school.    Qualifications  Bachelor’s degree required.  Teaching certification in elementary education preferred but not required.  Complete school provided ACSI Biblical Worldview Course within first year of employment.  Demonstrate effective classroom management.  Model a positive attitude and empathetic perspective.  Act as a team player.  Serve as a Christian role model.    Physical Requirements and Work Environment   Ability to function well in an environment with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.  May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.  Regularly use close and distance vision.  May stand for extended periods of time.  Works primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment.  May work in outside weather conditions, including heat and cold.  Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.  Communicate effectively both orally and in written contexts.  Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written).  Ability to instruct and model desirable skills and attitude.  Ability to remain productive and maintain control under stress.  Ability to maintain a clear focus on a positive student experience.  Full-time, ten-month position beginning August 1st.  Qualifications
