Your Checkout Role

Brookhaven Market is hiring a Full-Time Cashier (onsite) in Arlington Heights, IL, for afternoon shifts. This role keeps our front end moving smoothly while making sure every customer leaves feeling taken care of.

Key responsibilities include running the register with speed and accuracy; handling cash, credit, and debit payments; greeting customers and answering questions with friendly professionalism; keeping the checkout area tidy; following safety steps and proper cash-handling procedures; and pitching in with light restocking/organizing as needed.

Required skills and qualifications:
- Cashier/retail experience is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic math and comfort handling cash
- Able to stay sharp in a fast-paced setting
- Reliable, punctual, and positive
- Able to stand for the full shift and lift up to 30 lbs
- Available for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

An Afternoon Shift

You’ll clock in, get settled at the front end, and jump into the rhythm of the afternoon rush—hellos, quick scans, and plenty of “have a great day.” Between customers, you’ll straighten the lane so it stays neat and easy to navigate. When questions pop up, you’ll help keep things calm and moving, then wrap up your shift by balancing out and handing off smoothly to the next teammate.
