Job Description: 

Under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, the Intern will assist with daily operations of the Taxi and Rideshare Access Program (TAP and RAP). This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth program operations and delivering outstanding customer service to Pace TAP and RAP users. Essential functions include:

  1. Enrolling users by email and phone into TAP and RAP. 
  2. Assisting Project Managers with data analysis for audits ensuring program integrity.
  3. Providing exceptional customer service to program users by answering inquiries.
  4. Researching similar programs nationwide to develop a program comparison matrix.
  5. Performing other duties as assigned. 

Internship Duration: 

Monday, June 1, 2026 – Friday, August 14, 2026

Hours Per Week: 

Up to 37.5 Hours Per Week

Rate of Pay: 

$20/hr

Location: 

Chicago Paratransit Office, 547 W. Jackson, 8th Floor Chicago, IL 60661

Working Conditions: 

This position is based in an office setting with standard office equipment. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. However, the business needs of Pace may result in work schedules outside the typical hours/workdays. 

This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote telecommuting. 

Qualifications

Age: 

Must be 18 years of age or older. 

Education: 

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year accredited college or university and working towards a degree in Public Administration, Transportation Planning, or other related field. 

Licenses/Certifications:

Must possess a valid driver's license. 

Proficiencies: 

Must demonstrate working knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite applications. 

Physical Requirements: 

Ability to sit for extended periods of time, frequently stand and/or walk within an office environment, lift and carry up to 25lbs, use a keyboard and type for prolonged periods.
