Human Resources announces an opening for an Hourly Proctor in the Office of Assessment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assists with the administration of large-scale, state, and nationally standardized testing. Proctors report to a School Testing Coordinator at Arlington Public Schools.
This is a seasonal position, and the need is based on the volume of testing being administered. There are months in the school year
when the need is highest. Specific dates vary within those months based on the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), College
Board, and/or the International Baccalaureate testing window calendar.
APS Proctors may not be employed part or full time at a test preparation company. Proctors also cannot administer an exam for
which an immediate family or household member may be taking the exam. Proctors may not participate in any coaching activity that
addresses the content of secure College Board and/or IB exams.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language.
• Ability to communicate multi-step instructions.
• Superior customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Computer competency: ability to learn new technology quickly
• Ability to function well with student body in grades K – 12.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience Preferred but not Required: Job-related previous test administration and/or proctoring experience. Experience in
customer service and/or educational support field and experience in a multicultural environment interacting with speakers of varying
levels of English proficiency.
SALARY: Rate based on the FY25-26 Pay Plan $35.53/hr
