cBEYONData + SMX is seeking Cybersecurity Engineers to support federal customers with cybersecurity operations, security engineering, compliance, risk management, network security, cloud security, and mission-focused modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, monitor, and maintain security solutions that protect enterprise systems, networks, applications, and data
  • Support security engineering, security architecture, vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance activities
  • Assist with secure system implementation across federal, DoD, or enterprise technology environments
  • Administer, configure, and support cybersecurity tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and related platforms
  • Conduct or support vulnerability assessments, security reviews, risk analysis, remediation planning, and POA&M tracking
  • Help ensure systems and solutions align with applicable security frameworks, policies, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, cloud, data, application, and customer teams to support secure solution delivery
  • Develop and maintain security documentation, reports, technical artifacts, and audit readiness materials
  • Support continuous monitoring, system hardening, access control, and secure configuration activities
  • Help maintain secure, compliant, and resilient systems in support of mission-focused modernization efforts

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience supporting cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or information assurance activities in enterprise, federal, or DoD environments
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, policies, and standards such as NIST, RMF, FedRAMP, FISMA, DoD 8570/8140, or related guidance
  • Experience with vulnerability management, security assessments, POA&M tracking, risk analysis, and remediation support
  • Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, IDS/IPS, or similar technologies
  • Understanding of network security, access control, identity management, encryption, and secure configuration practices
  • Ability to support security documentation, compliance reporting, and audit readiness activities
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, cloud, data, and customer teams to support secure solution delivery

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Active or current DoD security clearance
  • Experience supporting federal, DoD, or mission-critical environments
  • Familiarity with cloud security concepts across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar platforms
  • Experience with Zero Trust architectures and methodologies
  • Experience supporting security architecture, system hardening, incident response, or continuous monitoring
  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CISSP, CASP+, CEH, CISM, AWS Security, Azure Security, or similar
