Qualifications
- Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
- Must be endorsed in music.
- Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
Experience
- Experience working with diverse student population
- Successful teaching experience and curricular knowledge.
- Experience implementing best practices in General music Instruction.
Responsibilities
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, and community members.
- Prepare students for school, pyramid and outside performance opportunities.
- Participate in pyramid festival yearly for feeder schools.
- Provide effective communications between and among school staff, Arts Education Supervisor, students, parents and community.
- Flexible, dependable, and highly organized.
- Desire to work with diverse community of learners.
- Work effectively with fine arts team.
- Effectively maintain music website.
- Provide outreach opportunities to grow quality program.
- Must be team oriented and able to work cohesively with others and meet timelines.
- Must be organized with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must provide minimum of 2 school based performances.
- Must attend county wide Arts Education professional development.
- Provide choral pullout program to grade 4/5 students.
- Stay current with arts related technology and best practices.
Salary will be based on the FY2026-27 salary schedule
