Overview
The Squires Group is seeking an Appian Security Developer to support the development and security enhancement of an Appian-based process automation solution. This role will focus on implementing custom development, addressing cybersecurity requirements, and supporting security gap remediation efforts to help maintain compliance within a secure environment.

This position is remote, but must work east coast hours. Per our Federal Government contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an active Secret Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain custom applications using the Appian platform.
- Implement security-focused enhancements and remediation activities within Appian applications.
- Collaborate with development, functional, and security teams to address cybersecurity requirements.
- Analyze and resolve security findings, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps.
- Develop and maintain integrations using REST APIs and web services.
- Configure Appian process models, interfaces, records, reports, and business rules.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups and sprint activities.
- Support testing efforts, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, security, and performance issues.
- Document technical solutions and follow development and security best practices.
- Support application deployments and ongoing maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of experience with the following:
- Hands-on experience with Appian custom development and process automation solutions.
- Experience applying cybersecurity principles within software development environments.
- Experience identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
- Experience developing and maintaining API integrations, including REST services.
- Experience performing unit testing and supporting quality assurance activities.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Â
Preferred Qualifications
- Appian Certified Developer or higher certification.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity compliance and authorization activities.
- Experience with application security testing and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and secure coding practices.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Experience supporting federal government programs and secure environments.
- W2 Hourly rate starts at $80. Pay rates are based on experience, qualifications, and location, and are subject to change at any time.
