Position Summary
This is an ONSITE position located in Arlington, VA.
NCC is seeking an Audiovisual (AV) Engineer to provide technical leadership, project oversight, and engineering support for complex audiovisual systems and live production environments. This role is responsible for managing AV projects, leading technical teams, maintaining system documentation, developing vendor relationships, and ensuring the successful design, installation, operation, and support of enterprise AV solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of engineering expertise, project management experience, and customer-focused service delivery.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Oversee and manage technical audiovisual projects from planning and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Generate, maintain, and update system-wide technical documentation, including system diagrams, standards, operating procedures, and maintenance records.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with AV manufacturers, vendors, integrators, and service providers.
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical direction to a team of contract AV Technicians.
- Design, engineer, integrate, and support audiovisual systems for conference rooms, meeting spaces, studios, event venues, and other enterprise environments.
- Administer, troubleshoot, maintain, and support Crestron-based control systems and associated AV technologies, ensuring reliable system performance and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving AV equipment, control systems, audio systems, video conferencing platforms, and integrated technologies.
- Support the fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, and lifecycle maintenance of audiovisual systems.
- Provide technical expertise and operational support for live events, presentations, recordings, broadcasts, and multimedia productions.
- Conduct AV cost analysis, evaluate technical solutions, and provide recommendations for system enhancements, upgrades, and technology investments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop technical solutions, and ensure successful delivery of AV services and projects.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security requirements, and industry best practices for audiovisual systems and operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance (Must be able to pass a background & credit check).
- Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Technology, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology, Radio/Television, Communications, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience installing, integrating, troubleshooting, and supporting audiovisual systems and equipment, including projectors, switchers, scalers, control systems, wireless microphones, lighting controllers, and touch-enabled technologies.
- 5+ years of experience designing AV systems and troubleshooting AV control systems.
- 5+ years of experience of AV Project Management and cost analysis.
- Experience supporting live event productions, including audio setup, recording, mixing, digital signal processing (DSP), microphone placement, signal flow management, acoustic analysis, and voice reinforcement.
- Excellent written, verbal, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting government contracts or federal customers.
- Experience with IP networking, CAD drawings, and technical documentation.
- Experience supporting VTC systems, streaming media, and multiple operating systems.
- Knowledge of Windows environments, storage and video production servers, asset management systems, and remote AV device management.
- IT support experience, including network and systems engineering.
- Certifications such as:
- InfoComm CTS, CTS-D, and/or CTS-I certification.
- Manufacturer certifications such as Biamp, ClearOne, Poly, Cisco/Tandberg, Shure, or similar technologies.
- AMX, Crestron, and/or Extron control system certifications.
Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000.00. The compensation range listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, budget, market data, and relevant laws.
