Job Summary
The Automation Technician is responsible for supporting automated manufacturing equipment and ensuring stable operation of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. This role performs troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment support activities to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency. The technician works closely with automation engineers and production teams to support equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting on automated production equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Support installation, setup, calibration, and testing of automation equipment and related tooling.
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure optimal machine performance.
- Assist automation engineers with equipment upgrades, optimization, and modification projects.
- Document maintenance activities, equipment issues, and corrective actions in maintenance logs or system records.
- Support root cause analysis for automation-related failures and assist with implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor equipment performance and provide feedback to improve production stability and operational efficiency.
- Follow all safety procedures, ESD controls, and facility protocols when working with manufacturing equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma with 2–3 years of relevant automation or equipment maintenance experience, or completion of a technical school program with 1–2 years of experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Hands-on experience maintaining or repairing automated production equipment.
- Ability to safely use diagnostic tools and standard hand tools.
- Basic computer skills for system access, reporting, and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Experience working in electronics manufacturing or automated assembly environments.
- Familiarity with sensors, actuators, motors, and PLC-controlled systems.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Work is performed in an automated electronics manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and moving mechanical components. The role may require standing for extended periods, bending, or working within equipment spaces. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to ESD and safety protocols are required.
