Job DetailsJob Location: Arlington, VA 22202Position Type: Full TimePosition title: Common Access Card Issuing Official Location: Arlington, Virginia Clearance required: SECRET   Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Credential & Identity Management Operations: Generate Common Access Cards (CACs) and other Uniformed Services ID Cards for all eligible personnel populations. This includes using the RAPIDS workstation to issue cards, ensuring recipients complete the DD Form 2841, creating DD Form 1172 for qualified dependents, and verifying eligibility for special categories such as former spouses. Data Integrity & Eligibility Verification: Serve as a Local Registration Authority (LRA), responsible for verifying the identity and eligibility of all card recipients in accordance with governing directives. They will also ensure DEERS data integrity by accurately adding or removing dependents based on the presentation of proper documentation. DEERS/RAPIDS System & Equipment Readiness: Ensure all DEERS/RAPIDS workstation equipment is functional, performing minor authorized repairs as needed. They will serve as the primary point of contact for the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) to resolve all equipment malfunctions and complex database correction cases. Customer Service & Training: Serve as the primary subject matter expert on all rules and regulations regarding ID card procedures. They are also responsible for providing comprehensive training for any new employees or alternates assigned to the section. Qualifications Associate's degree from an accredited institution and one (1) year of relevant experience as a security specialist OR a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and three (3) years of functional experience as a security specialist. Functional knowledge of (1) Defense Information System for Security (DISS) or (2) other automated database systems. Functional knowledge of Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and Real-time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS).
