Do you want to learn the very latest in cloud web services technologies and securely apply them to some of the most interesting computing workloads in the world? At AWS, we are hiring a Communications Security (COMSEC) Manager to help manage and continue to develop the COMSEC Program. This will entail managing a team of COMSEC officers located across the United States and building relationships with multiple mission partners. This role requires travel up to 20% of the time.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Key job responsibilities
- You establish the right team structure to respond to customer needs and business goals as well as operational/developmental objectives.

- You identify risks and bring them to the attention of your manager, customers, or stakeholders with plans for mitigation before they become roadblocks. You know when to escalate.

- You lead your team to deliver results and manage difficult problems, mitigate risks, and decide if you can handle or need to escalate.

- You make sure your team(s) are operating properly, meeting SLAs, tracking metrics, and delivering results by driving the right customer outcomes.

- You drive constructive discussions and dive deeply into the details. You seek diverse points of view and integrate that feedback into your decisions. You provide guidance, resources, and processes to help your team think and implement org-wide.

- Reviewing proposed new programs requiring COMSEC to ensure the security of the program.

- Advising management and mission partners on the current and planned COMSEC postures for all AWS locations.

- Maintaining liaison with Government customers and COMSEC vendors to provide advice, guidance, and exchange information with regards to COMSEC standards and policies.

- Provide support and oversight over multiple COMSEC accounts and subaccounts across multiple sites.

- Coordinate with internal and external customers/stakeholders to support information security programs.

Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in people management, including development, hiring, performance management
- 5+ years of experience managing operations teams supporting COMSEC, networking, or other areas of Information Technology.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph Preferred Qualifications: - Experience managing people including development, hiring, performance management, and leading teams dispersed across various regions
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
- Experience in regulatory compliance management with government agencies
- Experience with various Type 1 Cryptographic devices, keys and loaders
- 2+ years COMSEC experience as a Primary or Alternate COMSEC Custodian.
- Experience managing geographically disperse teams.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
