Join rockITdata as a Communications Specialist supporting one of the nation's largest federal healthcare modernization initiatives. In this role, you'll develop clear, engaging, and strategic communications that keep Government stakeholders, healthcare organizations, project teams, and end users informed throughout the implementation lifecycle. You'll collaborate with Organizational Change Management, Program Management, Training, and technical teams to create communication products that support organizational readiness, technology adoption, and successful program execution.

This position is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented communications professional who enjoys transforming complex technical information into meaningful, easy-to-understand messaging that helps organizations embrace change and achieve mission success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communication strategies supporting enterprise healthcare modernization initiatives.
  • Create executive briefings, newsletters, implementation updates, presentations, fact sheets, FAQs, and other communication materials.
  • Prepare stakeholder communications supporting system deployments, organizational readiness, and technology adoption.
  • Collaborate with Organizational Change Management, Training, and Program Management teams to ensure consistent messaging across all project activities.
  • Draft executive correspondence, leadership talking points, customer announcements, and internal communications.
  • Coordinate communication schedules, publication calendars, and distribution plans for project deliverables.
  • Support stakeholder engagement activities by developing communication products for meetings, workshops, demonstrations, and outreach events.
  • Review, edit, and proofread communication materials to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to organizational standards.
  • Monitor communication effectiveness and stakeholder feedback while recommending improvements to communication strategies.
  • Maintain communication documentation, templates, branding standards, and content repositories throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience developing communications supporting enterprise technology, healthcare, or government programs.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, editing, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience creating executive presentations, newsletters, communication plans, and stakeholder engagement materials.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar communication and content development tools is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Organizational Change Management (OCM), stakeholder engagement, and technology adoption initiatives is preferred.
  • Experience supporting VA, VHA, DHA, or other Federal healthcare organizations, health IT, telehealth, or Federal program management is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple communication priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 3 Public Trust clearance.
