We are seeking a Director of UX & Design to lead design across our product experiences. This role will define the design vision and operating model for our products, ensuring experiences are intuitive, efficient, and well aligned with the complex workflows of our professional users. This is a high-impact leadership role within our Core Product Experience Group.
You will shape the design organization, establish standards and systems for consistent, high-quality experiences, and ensure design contributes meaningfully to product outcomes and business impact. You will also champion modern, technology-enabled design practices that accelerate workflows, prototyping, and collaboration.
What You Will Do:
Lead and grow a team of product designers, establishing a high-performing, collaborative, and user-centered design culture
Drive alignment across teams and product areas to ensure consistent and cohesive user experiences across the portfolio
Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to shape product strategy and ensure design is integrated into roadmap and delivery decisions
Establish and evolve design systems, patterns, and standards to ensure consistency and scalability across products
Drive alignment across teams and product areas to ensure a consistent and cohesive user experience across Bloomberg Industry Group products
Ensure products are intuitive and efficient for professional users with complex workflows
Collaborate closely with User Research to incorporate customer insights into design decisions
Balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints to deliver effective product experiences
Establish processes that improve design quality, speed, and consistency across teams
Leverage modern design and prototyping tools, including AI-assisted and spec-driven approaches, to accelerate iteration and improve collaboration with Product and Engineering
Provide hands-on guidance on critical product initiatives and high-impact user experience challenges
Communicate design vision and rationale clearly to stakeholders across the organization
You Need to Have:
10+ years of experience designing user experience for complex digital products, with increasing scope and leadership responsibility
Bachelor’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Information Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing design teams
Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design for complex workflows or enterprise products
Experience working closely with Product, Engineering, and Research teams
Expertise in interaction design, information architecture, and usability best practices
Experience establishing or evolving design systems and standards
Experience using modern design and prototyping tools, with openness to adopting emerging technologies (e.g., AI-assisted design, rapid prototyping, or spec-driven workflows)
Strong communication and storytelling skills
Ability to influence product strategy, user experience direction, and business decisions through design
Compensation Range:
$215,000.00-$265,000.00Placement in the salary range will be decided upon completion of the interview process. Salary determination will be determined based on factors including but not limited to relevant experience, demonstrated skills related to the requirements of the role, education, certifications, and geographic location.
