Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: Diagnose, perform maintenance, and repair on light, medium, and heavy vehicles and equipment Service vehicles with fuel, oil, and coolant; perform preventive maintenance by checking items such as battery condition, tire air pressure, coolant and oil levels, and hydraulic and brake fluid levels Performs skilled repair and maintenance on a variety of gasoline-powered equipment and vehicles, such as replacing bearings, axle seals, brake master cylinders, resurfacing brake drums and rotors, etc Repairs, overhauls, replaces and rebuilds engine and various components of vehicles and equipment Diagnose, maintain and repair hydraulic systems Coordinates with administration and other trades to complete projects/work orders efficiently Perform and assist in the maintenance and repair of light, medium, and heavy vehicles and equipment to ensure the availability of equipment Conduct installation and removal of auxiliary equipment Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns Maintains tools and equipment to ensure the availability of equipment in safe operating condition Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to operate and give instruction for proper operation of the light and medium vehicles and equipment Ability to diagnose the failure of vehicles and equipment from the trade knowledge and to use diagnostic equipment and decide how properly repair Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance; this includes the ability to operate, calibrate, tune, and synchronize, and perform a complex rapid adjustment on equipment, machinery, and tools such as motor vehicles, motorized equipment, mechanic tools, drill press, welder, forklift, hydraulic press, battery tester, steam cleaner, power washer, and related materials used in performing essential functions Ability to explain, demonstrate and clarify to others within well-established policies, procedures, and standards.
