What your impact will be:

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESĀ (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)

  • IdentifyĀ a minimum of 25Ā healthcare insurance underpaymentsĀ for hospitals’ patient accountsĀ per dayĀ via MEDHOST Contract Management application;Ā identification of varianceĀ underpaymentsĀ will includeĀ zero payments, full denials, line-item denials, billing corrections, updated billing codeĀ requirementsĀ and incorrect payor system setup.Ā MEDHOST Variance & Denial Reports areĀ utilizedĀ toĀ assistĀ with identification of variances.Ā Ā Ā 
  • Verify insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract terms and fee schedules.Ā Ā 

  • IdentifyĀ root cause of insurance reimbursement underpayments and takeĀ appropriate actionsĀ to resolve payment variances;Ā work efforts are to be focusedĀ onĀ identification and recovery ofĀ high dollar insurance underpayments, zero paymentsĀ and trendingĀ to increase reimbursements for the hospital.Ā Ā 

  • Utilize Contract Management Worklist reporting toĀ facilitateĀ prompt identification of insurance variances.Ā Ā 

  • Review claims billed and insurance remits to research variances; claim review may include coding,Ā billing,Ā and discrepancies with patients’ insurance information.Ā Collaborate with the facilities to send corrected claims and appeals.Ā Ability to navigate within MEDHOST andĀ customer’sĀ clearinghouse systems toĀ identifyĀ root causes of variances.Ā Ā Ā 

  • NotateĀ variance reason within patient accounts and update patient accountsĀ utilizingĀ pre-defined variance reasonĀ codesĀ via MEDHOST system.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā 

  • ContactĀ insurance providersĀ regardingĀ identified underpayments and follow insurance payor guidelines to collectĀ additionalĀ reimbursement on behalf of the facility.Ā Ā 

  • Continue to follow-up with insurance payors once the payor has verified the underpayment and account resolution isĀ determinedĀ based on MEDHOST standard guidelines.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Work accounts with variancesĀ utilizingĀ a broad range of collection approaches including telephone calls with individual resources, conference calls with a group of resources,Ā presentations, screen sharing,Ā written communication,Ā electronic faxing, uploading information to payor websites,Ā rebilling of claims, etc.Ā Ā 

  • NotateĀ follow-up efforts made towards the collection process on the patient accounts viaĀ MEDHOSTĀ system.Ā Ā 

  • Communicate variance identification and recovery updates to clients weekly/monthly.Ā Ā 

  • Prioritize activities to work variances and denialsĀ in a timely manner.Ā Ā 

  • Collaborate with the MEDHOST Contract Management Build/Specialist teamĀ regardingĀ contract build issuesĀ identifiedĀ during the underpaymentĀ researchĀ process.Ā Ā 

  • Review underpayment andĀ overpaymentĀ false variances with client to minimize future false variances.Ā Ā 

  • Maintain customer meeting agendas andĀ facilitateĀ customer status calls; communication to include variance trendsĀ identified, weekly/monthlyĀ varianceĀ reporting, contracts & fee schedules needed toĀ maintainĀ facility’sĀ contract builds and report information that may hinder Contract Management work.Ā Ā 

  • RequestĀ assistanceĀ fromĀ MEDHOST andĀ facility’s’ leadershipĀ regardingĀ unsuccessful attempts to collect underpayments.Ā Ā 

  • Complete projectsĀ assignedĀ to improve operations within the team and to increase reimbursements for facilities.Ā Ā 

  • Assist others with projectsĀ and provide trainingĀ to team members and customersĀ asĀ needed.Ā Ā 

  • Collaborate withĀ facilities andĀ other MEDHOST teams for resolution of outstanding items.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Maintain the effectiveness and implementation of the MEDHOST Quality Management System and meet applicable regulatory requirements as needed.Ā 

  • Responsible for QMS procedures listed in QMS Procedure Crosswalk found in QMS Manual as applicable.Ā 

  • Any other duties asĀ deemedĀ necessary to provide quality service to MEDHOST customer base and CM team.Ā Ā

Wage:

$18-$28/hr

Administrative Duties:Ā 

  • Accurately input/submitĀ worked time by the required departmental deadlines.Ā Ā 

  • Maintain MEDHOST software applicationsĀ utilizedĀ & industry knowledge through self-study and by attending training classes.Ā Ā 

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of insurance payers and collection regulations.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Attend andĀ participateĀ in team and departmental meetings.Ā Ā 

  • Respond to email, Microsoft Teams,Ā and phone communicationsĀ in a timelyĀ mannerĀ and with professionalism.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Ensure that all HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements and responsibilities are adhered to.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Access protected health information (PHI)Ā in accordance withĀ departmental assignments and guidelines.Ā Ā 

  • BooksĀ travel in adherence to the companyĀ and departmentĀ travel policy.Ā Ā

What we're looking for:

Training and Experience:Ā 

  • MEDHOSTĀ (HMS)Ā Contract Management experience is a plus.Ā Ā Ā 

  • 3Ā years orĀ moreĀ experience inĀ contract management or relevant hospitalĀ revenue cycleĀ experience.Ā Ā 

  • Follow directions and perform work according to department standards; work performed self-independently & team player.Ā Ā Ā 

  • SufficientĀ computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to complete work assigned.Ā Ā
