Overview
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for an Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) SME to support Headquarters United States Air Force (HAF/A10). In this role, you will be responsible for providing specialized technical, analytical, and programmatic support for the NC3 Division (AF/A10XN). This support focuses on ensuring the resiliency, survivability, and cybersecurity of the DAF NC3 enterprise by analyzing requirements, assessing capabilities, and preparing materials for government use in key governance forums and stakeholder engagements. You will also provide dedicated analytical support to prepare Department of the Air Force (DAF) senior leadership for participation in the highest levels of DoD governance, specifically the NC3 Decision Forum (NC3DF). This support ensures DAF principals are equipped with comprehensive technical and operational analysis to effectively represent Air Force positions.Â

The HAF/A10 contract delivers technical, analytical, operational, programmatic, and planning subject-matter expertise to HAF/A10 and its component divisions to advance national security strategic plans, policies, concepts, and initiatives.

This is a full-time position, located on-site at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities
- SME & Technical Knowledge. Provide decision-quality information on IAMD concerns, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of missile defense doctrine, relevant DoW and non-DoW organizations, and current/emerging IAMD systems.
- Analysis, Coordination & Engagement. Coordinate with external offices (e.g., MDA, USAFE, NATO) and attend wargames, exercises, and approximately 100 meetings per year. Analyze requirements, concepts, and discussions from all forums. Analyze the performance of the DAF's IAMD, Defensive Counter-Air (DCA), Offensive Counter-Air (OCA), Counter-sUAS (C-sUAS), Air Base Air Defense (ABAD) missions along with the Agile Combat Employment (ACE) and Conventional Support to Nuclear Operations (CNSO) operating concepts.
- Provide research, analysis, and recommendations via point papers, white papers, briefings, and other staff instruments. Draft testimony, articles for publication, and materials for public speaking engagements. Provide recommendations to senior leaders on how to best organize, train, and equip the IAMD mission.
- Programmatic & Staff . Support. Serve as focal point for coordinating and tracking all IAMD policy staff packages, ensuring they conform to AF standards. Provide support for the SPPBE process, associated programming databases, and the management and transfer of IAMD-related Program Elements (PEs). Provide engineering expertise for technology transition from developmental to operational status.
- Senior Leader Forum Support. Support DAF participation in senior-level decision forums, such as, but not limited to, PBR, DMAGs, JROC (and its successor), and Missile Defense Executive Board (MDEB).
- Provide pre-briefings, scheduling support, and all associated product and position development for these forums.
- International Strategy Support. Support the development of DoW and DAF IAMD international engagement strategies. Join U.S. contingents in meetings with foreign representatives as required. Draft, review, and provide formal written comments on a broad array of international documents, including engagement strategies and bilateral/multilateral agreements.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must possess a TS-level clearance with SCI eligibility and maintain itEducation: Bachelor's degree Years of Experience: Twenty-five (25) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, including fifteen (15) years of DoD experience
Additional Experience:
- Must have expertise in systems including, but not limited to: COBRA DANE, LRDR, UEWR, AN/TPY-2, SBX, Aegis, SM-3/6, THAAD, Patriot, C2BMC, ITWAA, SBIRS, HBTSS, GBI, C-sUAS, JADC2, associated platforms (e.g., F-35, E-3), and Air and Space Operations Centers
- Subject matter expertise on current IAMD strategy, policy, doctrine, technologies, and operational challenges
- Experience using, analyzing, and interpreting IAMD exercises, studies, and models/simulations
- Experience generating briefings; drafting information, point, white, and decision papers
- Ability to plan and lead meetings for diverse IAMD experts
- Working knowledge of SPPBE process and programming databases
- Ability to support technology transition from developmental to operational status
- Experience generating staff packages in standard AF format
