Compensation:    $65,000 – $100,000+ total annual earning potential based on experience, certifications and licensing)
$28–$40 per hour base pay (based on experience, certifications, and licensing)

General Job Description:
The Journeyman/Wireman Electrician with HVAC Knowledge will primarily focus on performing electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance for multi-family and light commercial properties, while also providing support for HVAC system diagnostics and maintenance. This role involves diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and assisting with HVAC service calls as needed.Â
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs, including wiring, circuit breakers, electrical panels, and lighting systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues in compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety regulations.
- Support HVAC service calls by diagnosing air handlers, condensers, and package units when required.
- Collaborate with Field Supervisor and/or Project Manager to order electrical and HVAC parts.
- Communicate effectively with property management regarding electrical and HVAC service needs.
- Maintain a fully stocked work vehicle with necessary electrical and HVAC tools and parts.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in electrical system diagnostics, wiring, and component replacements.
- Knowledge of electrical code requirements (e.g., NEC) and safety standards.
- Basic understanding of HVAC system operations, including conventional system changeouts, compressor replacements, and blower/condenser fan motor replacements.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC system diagrams.Â
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience as a Journeyman or Wireman Electrician, with additional knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent Wireman certification.
- EPA certification for HVAC (preferred).
- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience diagnosing electrical and HVAC issues in multi-family apartment buildings.
- VRF and mini-split training or experience.
- Advanced certifications (e.g. Wireman/Journeyman Electrician, NATE certification for HVAC).
- Knowledge of energy-efficient electrical and HVAC systems.Â
Essential Physical Functions:
- Climbing: Ascending or descending stairs and ladders to access electrical and HVAC systems.
- Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving between work sites.
- Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift tools, equipment, or materials.
- Environmental Exposure: Subject to outside environmental conditions, including extreme cold, heat, and humidity, for extended periods.
