Journeyman Electrician

Location: Arlington, Texas
Employment type: Full‑time
Salary range: $32–$55 per hour (about $66,560–$114,400 per year). Open listings in the Dallas‑Fort Worth area show journeyman electricians earning $25–$55 per hour, with the top employers offering wages at the upper end of this range. Our pay range sits near the top of the market and comes with overtime, a bi‑weekly pay schedule and rapid advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

Carry standard equipment and parts; travel between job locations.
Inspect, assess and diagnose electrical issues; communicate with clients about necessary repairs or upgrades.
Choose appropriate materials, install and maintain wiring, plugs, panels and switchgear.
Set up and maintain electrical machines and troubleshoot equipment.
Monitor inventory, log time and materials for each job and maintain accurate records.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and provide professional, friendly service.
Mentor apprentices and assist master electricians on large projects.

Qualifications

Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Good arithmetic, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.
Excellent verbal and written communication; commitment to continuous learning.
Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
