Journeyman Electrician

Location: Arlington, Texas
Employment type: Full‑time
Salary range: $32–$55 per hour (about $66,560–$114,400 per year). Open listings in the Dallas‑Fort Worth area show journeyman electricians earning $25–$55 per hour, with the top employers offering wages at the upper end of this range. Our pay range sits near the top of the market and comes with overtime, a bi‑weekly pay schedule and rapid advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Carry standard equipment and parts; travel between job locations.
  • Inspect, assess and diagnose electrical issues; communicate with clients about necessary repairs or upgrades.
  • Choose appropriate materials, install and maintain wiring, plugs, panels and switchgear.
  • Set up and maintain electrical machines and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Monitor inventory, log time and materials for each job and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and provide professional, friendly service.
  • Mentor apprentices and assist master electricians on large projects.

Qualifications

  • Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good arithmetic, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; commitment to continuous learning.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
