Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

We are seeking experienced Operator III (Lead Operators) who can provide leadership on the production floor while safely operating converting and finishing equipment to meet customer expectations for quality, productivity, and efficiency.

What You'll Do

As an Operator III (Lead Operator), you will lead production crews while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and direction to production team members during daily operations
  • Ensure jobs are set up correctly and all required materials are available before production begins
  • Review job specifications and resolve any conflicting information before processing
  • Operate converting and finishing equipment while meeting established quality, waste, and productivity standards
  • Set up and operate inline equipment, including gluing, labeling, Straub applicators, rotary cutters, and other ancillary equipment
  • Monitor print quality, registration, tension controls, and machine performance
  • Perform minor mechanical adjustments and troubleshooting as needed
  • Accurately document production quantities, materials used, downtime, and waste
  • Track production counts and ensure reporting accuracy
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and waste reduction
  • Train and mentor operators and other team members as needed
  • Support smooth communication and handoff between shifts
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and a safe work environment
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and operating standards

What We're Looking For

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees across all shifts
  • Demonstrated experience operating converting, printing, or finishing equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of machine setup, troubleshooting, quality standards, and production processes
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work around moving machinery and production equipment
  • Occasional computer and keyboard use

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment with moving equipment
  • Indoor facility
  • Temperatures may exceed 90°F
  • Humidity levels may exceed 80%
  • Noise levels may exceed 85 dB
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 5-7 years of manufacturing, converting, printing, or related production experience
  • Previous leadership or lead operator experience preferred
