Job Title: Plant Manager


Reports To: VP of Operations 


Company Overview

Calcium Products has been helping farmers grow better crops for nearly 40 years. As a leader in calcium-based fertilizers, we manufacture 98G pelletized limestone and SO4 pelletized gypsum for a wide network of ag retailers across the Midwest. We are a stable, growing, people-focused company that takes pride in the work we do and the customers we serve.

As we continue to invest in our Iowa facilities, we are also expanding our footprint with new locations, including a new plant in Blair, Nebraska. To support this long-term growth, we are now recruiting a Plant Manager for the Blair facility.


Position Summary & Purpose

Responsible for the management of daily plant operations helping the team meet 1) Safety, 2) Quality and 3) Production goals while controlling overall cost. Serve as a key contributor to the plant improvement and expansion projects.


Responsibilities and Tasks

· Ensure safety processes and procedures are followed by all. Work with Safety Manager and entire team to continuously improve safety within the operations.


· Ensure products meet quality requirements through execution of quality procedures and regular quality checks/measures.


· Partner with the maintenance manager to ensure strong teamwork in problem resolution, project implementation and support or the completion of all regular maintenance activities to ensure production goals are safely met.


· Ensure all areas of the operation (parts, tools, etc.) and offices are well organized, swept and clean.


· Provide daily management and ensure execution of standard work and applicable operating procedures for lead persons, production workers and customer service (load out) representatives. Deliver regular constructive feedback, comprehensive training, effective communication and recognition for achievement.


· Be visible, responsive and available in the operations.


· Assist in hiring and developing a safe, engaged and improvement-focused workforce.


· Participate in setting yearly budgets and ensure they are met.


· Participate in the planning and execution of improvement and expansion projects meeting goals and objectives.


· From time to time, other duties will be assigned by the VP of Operations.

Requirements

  

Education, Skills and Experience

· High School with 10 years’ experience or equivalent required, 2-year associates degree or higher preferred

· Proven track record of successfully leading teams in an operating environment

· Should have ability to build trust and respect without relying solely on authority

· Good communication skills

· Experience with plant start up, preferred.

· Familiar with continuous flow plant operations and technologies

· Computer literate including Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel
