Program Financial Analyst

Apogee Research is seeking a Program Financial Analyst to support our larger efforts. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong financial background that wants to play a larger role in program execution. This position will include significant interaction with company leadership (Program Managers, Directors, CFO and CEO) and represents a great opportunity for growth. This position can be scoped to meet the capabilities of the right candidate with competitive compensation matched to the key responsibilities of the role.

The position is based out of our Arlington, VA, office (full-time in person). This position requires a TS security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility); having an active TS clearance is a strong preference but is not strictly required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with program teams to develop detailed financial plans and schedules for both internal and subcontractor execution on Government programs. 
  • Analyze financial data to track execution against the financial plan, identify variances, and understand the root causes of those variances. 
  • Communicate with stakeholders on financial execution (both written and verbal) and recommend future actions.
  • Assist with the preparation of customer facing presentations and program deliverables including financial status reports. 
  • Audit program execution to ensure compliance with contract requirements, company policies and program strategic goals. This includes maintaining detailed status of prime and subcontractor deliverables. 
  • Assist with the preparation of cost portions of proposals.

Requirements for Position

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration. 
  • Multiple years of experience working as an accountant or in a finance role in an organization performing federal contract work. 
  • Experience working with GAAP. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work within specified deadlines.
  • Must be able to communicate (both verbal and written) clearly and precisely.
  • Solid understanding and proven experience of supporting Cost based contracts.

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience in DoD efforts with a working understanding of the FAR and DFAR.
  • Experience working with Unanet financial system.
