Position Title: Scrum Master / Project Manager
Location: Hybrid, Arlington VA

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Scrum Master / Project Manager will play a critical role in Sprezzatura programs driving agile practices accelerating the delivery of modern IT solutions. They will assist and support a development team ensuring clear communication, driving organization and team/schedule alignment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Team Lead and Developers translate epics and user stories into actionable tasks, maintaining a clear and prioritized backlog aligned with client business objectives
  • Serve as Scrum Master for a cross-functional development team, ensuring adherence to Agile best practices
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines and deliverables
  • Collaborate with Business Analyst and Product Owner to derive epics and stories from business requirements including interviews, written process documents and desired outcomes
  • Promote transparency, communication, and alignment across cross-functional teams, including technologists, security experts, product managers, and client stakeholders
  • Track team output, achievement, and sprint metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders and leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog aligned with program goals and project schedule
  • Ensure the team’s work aligns the program’s mission to deliver scalable, sustainable, and impactful digital solutions for end users
  • Organize and lead Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, ensuring productive and focused meetings
  • Remove impediments and blockers that hinder the team’s progress, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain momentum. 
  • Coach, mentor, and support team members and stakeholders in agile principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance
  • Advise government personnel and delivery partners on process standardization, agile adoption, and digital transformation best practices within the federal environment


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar agile delivery role, preferably supporting large-scale digital transformation or federal government projects
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and coaching teams in agile methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remove impediments in complex, fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to build relationships across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with project and configuration management tools such as Jira, Rally, or GitHub is desirable



WORKING CONDITIONS

Standard Business hours are Monday through Friday EST. Occasional extended or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs. Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting.
