Position Summary

The Senior Salesforce Developer builds custom functionality inside an accredited environment where secure coding is an audit obligation, not the best practice. This person writes production-grade Apex and Lightning Web Components, builds integrations that cross controlled network boundaries, and produces the artifacts and evidence that support continuous monitoring. They are expected to verify feature availability before designing around a capability, and to articulate when configuration would be the safer answer.

Key Responsibilities

Development

  • Design, build, test, and deploy Apex classes, triggers, batch and queueable jobs, and scheduled processes.
  • Build Lightning Web Components meeting Section 508 and WCAG 2.x standards: semantic markup, ARIA, full keyboard navigation, and screen-reader compatibility. Accessibility defects are treated as functional defects.
  • Confirm capability availability on our Government Cloud tier before committing to a design.
  • Develop and optimize SOQL/SOSL with attention to selectivity, governor limits, and large data volume behavior.
  • Build Experience Cloud functionality for public-facing or partner-facing use, with heightened attention to guest user security and unauthenticated access surfaces.

Secure Coding & Compliance

  • Write code that enforces CRUD/FLS and sharing explicitly.
  • Follow secure coding standards addressing injections, insecure direct object reference, insufficient logging, and the rest of the OWASP set; remediate findings from static and dynamic analysis before merge.
  • Produce audit-relevant logging for sensitive transactions in the format required by our SIEM integration.
  • Support security assessments by producing code-level evidence, walking assessors through control implementations, and remediating findings on the schedule set by the POA&M.

Integration

  • Build and consume REST and SOAP APIs using named credentials and approved authentication flows.
  • Develop integrations that operate correctly across restricted network paths, including endpoint allow-listing, certificate management, and mutual TLS where required.
  • Work with Platform Events, Change Data Capture, and streaming APIs where authorized on our tier.

Quality & Delivery

  • Write meaningful unit tests with realistic.
  • Perform peer code reviews with explicit attention to security and accessibility, not just correctness.
  • Work within the accredited CI/CD pipeline using source-driven development.
  • Debug production issues within the constraints of restricted support access.
  • Performance-tune bulk operations and large-volume processes.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of software development including 4+ years of building on the Salesforce platform.
  • Expert-level Apex: asynchronous processing, exception handling, and governor limit management.
  • Strong Lightning Web Component development with modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Demonstrated secure coding practice and experience remediating static analysis findings.
  • Solid understanding of the Salesforce security model and enforcing it in code.
  • Experience with Git-based version control and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of Section 508 / WCAG requirements for web application development.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.

Certifications

Required: Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I.

Preferred: Platform Developer II, JavaScript Developer I, Integration Architect.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior development experience in a FedRAMP, DoD IL4/IL5, or StateRAMP environment.
  • Experience with Public Sector Solutions or government-specific managed packages.
  • Familiarity with MuleSoft Government Cloud or another accredited integration platform.
  • Experience with LWC unit testing and automated accessibility testing tooling.
