This position is a 1.0 Art Teacher at Arlington Traditional Elementary School. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
  • Must be endorsed in Visual Arts.
  • Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.

Experience:

  • Teaching experience in the above mentioned area.
  • Knowledge of best instructional practices.
  • Ability to integrate technology.
  • Experience in educational and instructional leadership.
  • Dual endorsed preferred.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities:  

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, and community members
  • Prepare art students for in school, and outside opportunities.
  • Provide effective communications between and among school staff, Arts Education Supervisor, students, parents
    and community.
  • Flexible, dependable, and highly organized.
  • Desire to work with diverse community of learners.
  • Work effectively with fine arts team and theater productions.
  • Effectively maintain Visual arts website.
  • Provide outreach opportunities to grow quality program.
  • Must be team oriented and able to work cohesively with others and meet timelines.
  • Must be organized with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Maintain safety standards and best practices in art rooms.
  • Stay current with arts related technology and best practices.
  • Participate in Scholastics, Ed. Center gallery, and Spring art shows.
  • Attend County Wide Monthly Arts Education meetings as scheduled.

Salary: 

  • Salary will be based on the FY2026-27 salary schedule.
