Position Title: Technical Business Analyst
Location: Hybrid 2 days per week Onsite Arlington, VA

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join our team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In this role you will support the delivery of enterprise applications built on the ServiceNow platform. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and product leadership to translate complex business needs into actionable requirements and ensure successful implementation of scalable solutions.

You should bring a strong mix of business analysis, systems thinking, and platform delivery experience, particularly in low-code/no-code platforms such as ServiceNow, and is comfortable working in Agile delivery environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Engage stakeholders and SMEs to elicit, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements
Translate business needs into user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria
Collaborate with developers, architects, and project managers to ensure accurate implementation of requirements
Support ServiceNow solution design and configuration discussions, including workflows, integrations, and data requirements
Analyze system integrations and data flows, including mapping and transformation across systems
Develop current and future state process documentation (process maps, workflows, use cases)
Facilitate requirements workshops, backlog grooming, and design reviews
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) including test script development, execution support, and defect tracking
Act as a liaison between business and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience,
- 8+ years of relevant business or systems analysis experience in lieu of a degree
Experience supporting enterprise platforms or low-code solutions (ServiceNow, Power Platform, Appian, Salesforce, etc.)
Strong understanding of system integrations, data flows, and relational data structures
Experience with requirements documentation, user stories, and test cases
Hands-on experience with process mapping and workflow documentation
Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
Experience working in Agile or hybrid Agile delivery environments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience supporting ServiceNow platform implementations or builds
Familiarity with ServiceNow workflows, data models, or modules (ITSM, CSM, HRSD, SPM, App Engine)
Experience working on government or public sector technology projects
Experience supporting data migration or multi-system integration efforts
Familiarity with Agile delivery tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.)
Business Analysis or Agile certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSM, SAFe)

WORKING CONDITIONS

Standard Business hours are Monday through Friday (9-5 ET). Occasional extended or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs. . Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting on the days working remote.
