Responsible for high-level planning, strategy, optimization, and documentation of network infrastructure solutions. Analyzes current and emerging technologies and provides technical consulting and recommendations based on assessments of the organization's network technology needs. Translates business requirements into network or process designs and serves as the lead networking subject matter expert in support of business expansion.

  • Manage enterprise telephony infrastructure and telecom carrier relationships.
  • Administer Avaya Government Cloud telephony platform including call routing, trunking, and circuit management.
  • Coordinate with telecom carriers for circuit provisioning, changes, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage PSTN connectivity, SIP trunks, and voice gateways.
  • Monitor telephony performance, call quality, and trunk utilization.
  • Troubleshoot voice quality issues, dropped calls, and connectivity problems.
  • Manage telecom inventory including phone numbers, DIDs, toll-free numbers.
  • Coordinate telecom moves, adds, and changes (MAC) for client locations.
  • Support disaster recovery and emergency calling (E911) requirements.
  • Develop call routing strategies and dial plans.
  • Manage telephony security including toll fraud prevention.
  • Produce telephony usage reports and cost analysis.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for telephony support.
  • Maintain telecom documentation including circuit inventory, carrier contacts, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field or equivalent relevant experience. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • CompTIA Network+ and/or CCNE certification preferred.
  • 8+ years administering large-scale Avaya Aura environments, including cloud-enabled deployments with 3+ years carrier coordination and circuit management.
  • Avaya Certified Specialist or equivalent
  • Telecommunications certifications (CCNA Voice, CompTIA Network+) preferred

Other Job Specific Skills

  • Experience with VoIP and SIP technologies.
  • Expert in: Telephony systems, call routing, SIP/PSTN protocols, carrier services.
  • Strong knowledge: Avaya telephony, voice gateways, session border controllers, telecom billing.
  • Familiarity with: VoIP quality of service (QoS), E911, toll fraud prevention.

Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role. Monetary compensation is one component of ASM's overall compensation and benefits package for employees.
