Database Applications Lead

Provides high-level database support by verifying databases associated with network tools and solutions function as required. Focuses on establishing the architecture, design, and security of various databases. Provides database support by verifying databases associated with network tools and solutions function as required.  Applies expert knowledge of database management systems to coordinate maintenance and changes to database. Provides direction to programmers and analysts as required to affect changes to database management systems.   

• Lead database administration teams (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Ensure database availability, performance, and security across all environments.
• Drive database automation initiatives (provisioning, patching, backup/recovery).
• Oversee database capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Manage database change requests and coordinate with CCME.
• Lead database-related incident response and problem resolution.
• Develop database standards, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
• Support application teams with database architecture and optimization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent relevant experience. Master’s Degree Preferred.
• Public Trust clearance (or ability to obtain).
• 8+ years database administration experience (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and 3+ years team leadership experience.

Other Job Specific Skills

• Hands-on operations experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgres. 
• High Availability/Disaster Recovery design and operations. 
• Proven experience in performance tuning and optimization.
• Expert in: Database HA/DR, performance tuning, security hardening.
• Strong knowledge: Database automation, cloud databases (RDS, Azure SQL). 
• Oracle OCP or Microsoft MCSA certification preferred.

Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role.
