This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Jefferson Middle School.

All Teachers/Instructional Staff hired after January 15th are considered term employees. This position is a term position that is effective for FY26 through June 18, 2026 only. You would need to re-apply for a position for FY27.

Qualifications:Â
- Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
- Must have Middle School English, English, or be eligible for reading endorsement (masters in reading or masters in another teaching area plus reading endorsement.
- Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
Experience:Â
- Experience working with middle school students.
Responsibilities:Â
- Ability to function as a member of a team.
- Flexible, dependable and highly organized.
- Current knowledge regarding language arts research and practice.
- Current knowledge of both group and individual assessment and how to interpret the results.
- Ability to lead team meetings and language arts committees as needed.
Salary:Â
- Salary will be based on the FY2025-26 salary schedule
