Job Description

The role is responsible for assisting the warehouse team in handling inbound and outbound orders, sorting and organizing material/product inside the warehouse/outside in the warehouses, assist in light fabrication work and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Operated a sit-down propane-powered forklift to safely transport, load, unload, and stage steel products weighing several thousand pounds.
  • Moved large bundles of materials/product on wood pallets throughout warehouse and production areas.
  • Loaded and unloaded flatbed trailers and delivery trucks while ensuring proper weight distribution and secure placement of materials.
  • Conducted daily forklift inspections, monitored propane fuel levels, and reported maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Followed OSHA regulations, company safety procedures, and established material-handling protocols.
  • Read work orders, shipping documents, and inventory records to accurately move and stage materials.
  • Maintained awareness of load capacities, center-of-gravity considerations, and safe operating practices when handling oversized or heavy loads.
  • Assisted with inventory control, material organization, and warehouse housekeeping.
  • Worked closely with production, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure efficient workflow and on-time deliveries.
  • Demonstrated the ability to manoeuvre heavy loads in tight spaces while maintaining a strong safety record.

Qualifications

  • High school or G.E.D
  • Related experience or training or an equivalent combination of education is preferred.
  • Forklift certificate
