Senior Construction Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and successful execution of large-scale or multiple concurrent construction projects from preconstruction through closeout and warranty. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle management of commercial, industrial, multifamily, or institutional construction projects (typically $20M+).
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, cash flow projections, and resource plans using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Oversee procurement strategy, including preparation of bid packages, bidder prequalification, scope reviews, bid leveling, and contract negotiation/awards.
  • Manage the design and permitting process in collaboration with architects, engineers, and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Drive submittal, RFI, change order, and ASI processes to minimize delays and protect the project margins.
  • Chair regular owner/architect/contractor (OAC) meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and internal team updates; prepare and distribute accurate minutes and action item tracking.
  • Proactively identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement recovery plans when necessary.
  • Monitor and enforce jobsite safety, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and compliance with OSHA, company, and client-specific standards.
  • Manage project financials including cost forecasting, monthly pay applications, change management, and final closeout documentation.
  • Mentor and develop assistant project managers, project engineers, and field staff.
  • Foster long-term client relationships with clients, design partners, and trade contractors to support repeat business and company growth.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field required (Master’s degree a plus).
  • 8+ years of progressive construction project management experience with a general contractor or construction manager.
  • Proven track record successfully delivering projects valued at $20M+ (multiple $50M+ projects preferred).
  • Experience in one or more sectors: commercial office, healthcare, higher education, multifamily, life sciences, or advanced technology strongly preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Expert-level proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam Revu, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of Buildr a plus. 
  • Strong command of construction contracts (AIA, Design-Build, CMAR, GMP) and delivery methods.
  • Thorough understanding of building codes, permitting processes, LEED/green building practices, and BIM/VDC workflows.

Salary: $150k - $220k, based on experience
