Psychiatric Medical Director

Diversified Treatment Alternative Centers (DTAC)

Location: Williamsport, PA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $165.00 - $185.00 per hour
Travel Requirements: Regular onsite presence, including one day per week in Williamsport, PA and one day per week in Danville, PA. Occasional travel to additional DTAC program locations as needed.



Position Overview

Diversified Treatment Alternative Centers (DTAC) is seeking a collaborative, mission-driven Psychiatric Medical Director to provide psychiatric leadership across our child and adolescent behavioral health continuum of care.

This physician leader will partner closely with executive leadership, clinical teams, nursing staff, and prescribers to help shape DTAC's medical vision, strengthen services, support provider development, and ensure high-quality psychiatric care across the organization.

The ideal candidate is passionate about serving youth with complex behavioral health needs, enjoys collaborating with families and stakeholders, mentoring clinicians, values multidisciplinary teamwork, and is excited to help build and strengthen programs.



About DTAC

DTAC provides specialized behavioral health services to children and adolescents through residential treatment, outpatient programs, community-based services, and autism support programs.

The organization serves youth with complex emotional, behavioral, developmental, and trauma-related needs, including youth with problematic sexual behaviors, autism spectrum disorders, and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.



Key Responsibilities

Psychiatric Leadership

  • Provide psychiatric oversight and clinical leadership across DTAC programs.
  • Establish and maintain evidence-based psychiatric practices and prescribing standards.
  • Support treatment teams in managing complex clinical cases.
  • Promote trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and family-centered care.
  • Serve as a psychiatric resource for program leaders, clinicians, and executive leadership.

Provider Supervision & Development

  • Supervise and support Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and other psychiatric providers.
  • Participate in provider recruitment, onboarding, mentorship, and performance development.
  • Promote clinical excellence through consultation, peer review, and professional education.
  • Help cultivate a strong psychiatric and clinical culture across the organization.

Program Development & Quality Improvement

  • Partner with leadership to develop and strengthen psychiatric services.
  • Assist in establishing clinical protocols, treatment standards, and best practices.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and outcome-focused care.
  • Participate in accreditation, licensing, and regulatory activities related to psychiatric services.

Education & Collaboration

  • Provide education and consultation to therapists, counselors, nurses, and other behavioral health professionals.
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary treatment teams.
  • Support staff development and ongoing clinical learning.
  • Foster strong partnerships between psychiatric, clinical, operational, and executive leadership teams.

Clinical Services

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and consultation services as needed.
  • Participate in treatment planning and case consultation.
  • Provide support for crisis situations and complex clinical decision-making.
  • Maintain timely and appropriate clinical documentation.



Qualifications

Required

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency Program.
  • Current physician license in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain Pennsylvania licensure.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain Ohio physician licensure.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry.

Preferred

  • Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship training.
  • Board Certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Experience in residential treatment, inpatient psychiatry, outpatient behavioral health, or community-based services.
  • Experience supervising Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners or Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Experience working with youth affected by trauma, autism spectrum disorders, problematic sexual behaviors, and other complex behavioral health needs.
