Education

  • Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Degree

Experience / Qualifications

  • Licensure in the State of Florida as APRN/RN or Physician Assistant
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
  • Demonstrates high-quality case management abilities and clinical competency
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Experience in OR working as a first assist. Preferably in the Oncology field.

Position Summary

The PA/APRN works in collaboration with physicians and other patient care team members, in an active practice to deliver health care services to patients and families.

  • Provides direct patient care.  
  • Performs procedures and prescribes medications under protocol.
  • Provides patient education and counseling.
  • Participates in the marketing, evaluation and growth at JMC.
  • The position will support all of oncology physician plus assisting as first assist in the OR.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time.  The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.

  • These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis
    • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation
    • TB/PPD Surveillance Program
    • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
