Job Description:
Job Summary
The DOT Cement Mechanic is experienced with regular or diesel mechanic work, maintains and repairs equipment used in cement operations, responds to calls to perform repairs on location, and uses DL8 and Alison software to monitor engines or transmissions for needed repairs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair equipment used in cement operations (i.e., tractors, cement pumps, bulk trucks, etc.)
- Respond to calls to perform repairs at job location
- Process work orders daily
- Monitors cement equipment to anticipate future maintenance needs
- Use DL8 and Alison software to monitor engines or transmissions for needed repairs
- Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Job Qualifications
- At least 6 months of experience with regular or diesel mechanic work
- DL8 and Alison software knowledge is required
- Class A CDL Required
- Maintain a valid CDL and clean driving record required
- Hazmat endorsements preferred
- Able to drive commercial trucks and other vehicles with a manual transmission
- Familiarity with Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations required
- Able to pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and physical examination required
- Able to pass a road test required
- Able to operate both manual and automatic transmissions required
- Able to perform pre- and post-trip CMV inspection required
- Must be familiar with electronic logging devices
- Basic communication skills are required, able to interact with team and follow directions
- Basic computer skills are required
- Must provide own tools, service trucks will be provided for on-site work
- Freightliner maintenance experience is preferred
- Upholds a team player attitude with a hard work mentality
- Available to work a 14/7 shift, can safely perform required duties during a 12+ hour workday that will include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be physically able safely to lift 50 lbs. and 25 lbs. over head
- Must be physically able to stand or sit for extended periods, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb equipment ladders or stairs throughout work shift.
