Job DetailsJob Location: Artesia, CA 90701Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.35 Hourly General Purpose of the Job This position's purpose is to assist in implementing the Life Enrichment Program in the Residential Care Facility and Cottages. This program is designed to supplement residents’ own activities and hobbies.   Job Functions Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position.  However, it in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform.  The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or is an essential function of the position. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:    Conduct a variety of large and small group activity programs based on the interests of residents. Assist the individual resident with their activity schedules and other resident services. Assist with bulletin boards as directed by the Life Enrichment Coordinator. Assist with organizing all supplies and equipment for the Residential activity program in an orderly and efficient manner. Assist in implementing all special events and off-campus activities. Assist with all volunteers.     General Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrate Core Values and Non-Negotiable behaviors as defined by the Artesia Christian Home.   Adhere to program philosophy and implement a person-centered, relationship-based approach to working with residents and their families. Maintain an environment that provides a balance of structure and nurture while working to engage residents in daily life and encourage them to be as independent as possible.   Maintain a high level of awareness of residents’ rights, quality of life, confidentiality, and privacy. Maintain the principles of infection control; be aware of all safety hazards and emergency procedures for fire and disaster that would ensure the safety of our residents. Follow Residents’ Rights and Confidentiality policies at all times. Complete training requirements related to dementia care, program philosophy, and job description-related training. Attend all in-service training programs and complete Relias trainings as assigned. Assume accountability for data contained in the employees’ handbook. Perform all assigned duties in accordance with our established policies and procedures, residential care procedures, and our safety rules and regulations.   Qualifications Qualifications Must pass a California criminal background clearance. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills in English.     Must have completed at least freshman year of high school and be interested in working with the elderly. Must be in good physical and mental condition and capable of performing assigned tasks; Good health must be verified by a health screening performed by a licensed physician, including a chest X-ray or intradermal test for TB. Must be able to hear, talk, and have a clear vision with or without corrective lenses. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, kneel, and move intermittently during working hours and lift or exert force of up to 50 lbs.   Must be able to perform in a busy environment, subject to frequent interruptions, subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents and family members, subject to falls, infectious diseases, substances, and odors. Must be willing to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary
