About the Role Join the dynamic team at Mark VII, a leader in car wash manufacturing, as a Strategic Purchaser This critical role involves taking ownership of the entire procurement lifecycle to aggressively drive cost reduction and ensure the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) across all materials and services. The Strategic Purchaser will lead major vendor negotiations, manage supplier contracts, and identify new global suppliers to secure a resilient supply chain. Key duties include executing cost-reduction strategies, performing "Make vs. Buy" and TCO analyses, managing supply chain risk, and serving as the primary procurement liaison for all New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.  Key Responsibilities Lead all major vendor negotiation processes for direct and indirect materials, capital expenditures, and services to achieve the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Identify, evaluate, and qualify new global and domestic suppliers to strengthen the supply chain and secure competitive pricing. Draft, review, and manage comprehensive contracts and agreements with key suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and compliance. Develop and execute aggressive cost reduction strategies (e.g., value engineering, volume consolidation) and report verifiable savings against budget targets. Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and conduct regular Supplier Business Reviews (SBRs) to monitor and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance (quality, delivery, and cost). Proactively assess and mitigate supply chain risks related to material availability, geopolitical factors, and supplier financial stability. Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to establish and maintain accurate standard costs for all components and assemblies within the ERP system. Develop and manage internal pricing structures and matrices for finished goods and service parts to ensure company profitability targets are met. Conduct detailed "Make vs. Buy" analyses, providing data-driven recommendations to optimize production efficiency and financial performance. Serve as the primary procurement liaison for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, providing early supplier involvement, cost estimates, and securing long-lead time materials. Contribute to the annual budgeting process by accurately forecasting commodity price trends and projected material expenditures. Continuously review and implement improvements to purchasing processes and systems to enhance efficiency, transparency, and organizational compliance. Reporting to the purchasing manager Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or Engineering. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, purchasing, or procurement, ideally within a manufacturing or capital equipment industry. Proven track record of leading complex, multi-million dollar negotiations and managing long-term supplier contracts. Strong financial acumen, including deep experience with cost accounting, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling, and Make vs. Buy analyses. Proficiency with modern ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced data analysis using Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated ability to source and purchase technical components, machined parts, and complex assemblies. Excellent ability to monitor and forecast global commodity market trends and their financial impact. Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, particularly when working with Engineering, Finance, and Operations teams.
