- Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand part requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Set up CNC machines by selecting and securing fixtures, tools, attachments, and materials.
- Measure, mark, and prepare materials for machining operations.
- Start and monitor machine operations to ensure parts are produced accurately and efficiently.
- Identify and troubleshoot machining issues, making adjustments to machine controls as needed.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment, including calipers and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Verify first-piece quality before proceeding with production runs.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience or formal training in CNC machine setup and operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM equipment.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and dimensional verification.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during a work shift.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with varying environmental conditions.
- Technical certification or Associate degree in CNC Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- Advanced experience setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, and/or laser cutting equipment.
- Experience operating and programming a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- Knowledge of metallurgical properties, materials science, or related coursework.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
