Position Overview
We are seeking motivated and reliable fifty (50) Data Center Technician Interns (Project-Based) to support installation and deployment projects in Ashburn, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in telecommunications, structured cabling, data centers, networking infrastructure, and hands-on technical work.
The Data Center Technician Intern will assist with the installation of cabling systems, cable containment infrastructure, cable replenishment activities, equipment delivery, receiving, and white-glove installation services at project sites.
Responsibilities
• Perform installation of low and high voltage cabling projects for clientsÂ
• Cabling rough-in and termination (all media types)Â
• Cabling testing and documentation (all media types)Â
• Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage cable systemsÂ
• Work with Electrical, CAT 5e & 6 twisted pair, optical fiber, coax, etc.Â
• Perform all cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, terminating, and testing in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other local regulationsÂ
• Basic pipe bending and fitting of conduitÂ
• Create a positive experience and relationship with all customers through strong communication and outstanding customer serviceÂ
• Ensure all equipment and information are on site to meet schedules and deadlinesÂ
• Adhere to safety guidelines and requirementsÂ
• Perform all work in an organized, neat and quality mannerÂ
• Perform other related duties as assigned by managementÂ
Minimum RequirementsÂ
• At least 2 years’ experience in related fieldÂ
• Experience in Rack & stackÂ
• Experience in Cable dressingÂ
• Knows how to install wrapped-around labels in the cable
• Detailed communication-oriented
• Ability to lift/carry/setup a 75 lb. ladderÂ
• Basic computer skillsÂ
• Strong work ethicÂ
• Punctuality and attendanceÂ
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skillsÂ
• Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving recordÂ
• Successful completion of drug and background screening tests requiredÂ
• Ability to work overtime as needed
