Better Morning emerged as an outpatient behavioral health practice in Ashburn, VA in the year of 2014.

In addition to providing counseling from the Ashburn office, Better Morning started off as a certified provider for intensive in home and community-based services (IHCBS), for at risk youth in District of Columbia.

In August of 2017, Better Morning was certified as a Core service agency (CSA) by DC Department of Behavioral Health. Better morning founder’s passion for at risk youth and their family were the motivation to keep expanding the evidenced based programs to meet the need of the underserved population.

Job Description

Summary:

Better Morning is seeking a qualified Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) to provide high-quality, person-centered mental health services in Virginia. The LMHP will deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, complete clinical documentation in compliance with Virginia Medicaid and regulatory standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and periodic reassessments
  • Establish and document DSM-5-TR diagnoses and medical necessity
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans
  • Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in the EHR
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, care coordination, and case consultation
  • Coordinate with schools, community providers, and caregivers as applicable
  • Respond to crisis situations, including safety planning and risk assessments
  • Comply with all Virginia DBHDS, Medicaid, and licensing requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active LMHP license in Virginia
  • Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
  • Medicaid credentialed or eligible for credentialing
  • Knowledge of DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria
  • Strong clinical documentation and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in community-based or school-based mental health services
  • Experience serving children, adolescents, and families
  • Familiarity with Virginia Medicaid behavioral health services
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills

Compensation:

Job Types: Full-time (W-2) (40 hours) (8 hours shift): Salary Range: $65,000 – $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience and licensure

1099 Contractor: Pay rate is $45 – $50 per clinical hour, depending on service type and experience
• Flexible scheduling and productivity-aligned compensation

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

  • Ashburn, Virginia, Reliably commute or willing to relocate (Required)
