Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $15.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application)
This temporary part-time position is assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services - DSOHF in Black Mountain - Buncombe County. Position will work flexible schedules and hours based on business needs.
Client Living Areas: Dusts and removes visible soil from hallways, bedrooms, dining rooms, and dayrooms using the appropriate disinfectants and cleaners to enhance the overall appearance and sanitation of the living area. These duties will be performed at least daily, but as often as needed. Carpeted areas will be vacuumed weekly and spot cleaned at least once a month. All carpets will be thoroughly cleaned using an approved method for the area. Cleans bathrooms daily by disinfecting toilets, sinks, and tubs. Wipes down walls, cleans mirrors, and replaces soap and paper products. Picks up trash and cleans trash containers as needed. Sweeps and mops floor area. Transports clean linen from the linen room and stocks the shelves in the living areas. Assures all linen items are kept on hand in the living areas at all times. Transports soiled linens from the client living areas to soiled linen holding area.
Office Areas: Sweeps and mops office areas once a week, more often if necessary. Spot cleans and vacuums carpets if present. Daily picks up trash, cleans trash receptacles, as needed. Dust accessible furniture with a cloth treated with an approved dust control chemical. Spot cleans walls, doors, and electrical switch covers.
Miscellaneous Duties: Moves furniture using hand trucks, desk movers, and carts. Cleans windows at least yearly, more often as conditions require. Make minor repairs to equipment and/or submits work orders to the supervisor. Keeps on hand at all times the cleaning supplies and paper products for assigned area. Attend meetings, i.e., training classes, departmental meetings, facility meetings, new employee orientation. Reports to supervisor immediately any safety or sanitation hazards present. Assists in other support service areas as needed.

Management prefers applicants with the following:
- Knowledge of operation of floor cleaning machine
- Basic knowledge of established cleaning procedures and techniques
- Basic knowledge of purpose and application of products and equipment used in a cleaning operation of stripping and waxing floors
- Basic knowledge of receiving and counting of inventory with accuracy
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Ability to arrange items and/or actions in certain orders or patterns according to specific rules or sets of rules (i.e. patterns of numbers, letters, pictures and materials)
Minimum Education and Experience
